Noosa Yakkers rules and guidelines

1. Noosa Yakkers is a kayak fishing group

Posts must be related to kayak fishing. No land-based, jet ski or boat-based fishing reports or unrelated topics are allowed.

2. Safety/legal

Kayakers are responsible for their own safety and must ensure that all legal requirements of their state or territory are followed. Members take part in anything organised by the Noosa Yakkers at their own risk.

3. Facebook Group guidelines

General discussion

Debate on anything related to kayak fishing and sharing of knowledge and experience is encouraged. While there is nothing wrong with a bit of banter, please keep discussion respectful, accept other people’s point of view even if you disagree with them and refrain from personal attacks.

Offensive posts will not be tolerated. Any of the Facebook Group Administrators have the right to delete any posts or comments they feel are offensive or demeaning, involve personal attacks or are unrelated to kayak fishing. Repeat offenders may find themselves blocked for a period or removed from the group and have their membership terminated.

Trip invites

Planning a trip and want some company? Post a trip invite with your planned date, time of launch and launch location.

Trip Reports

Your post should include the date, where you launched, who went and your fishing story accompanied with whatever photos or videos you have. No need to reveal your prized GPS marks – general information is fine. Kayak fishing reports only – no boat or land-based reports.

A monthly summary of trip reports for the Noosa Yakkers area is added to the Noosa Yakkers blog and the information from those reports contributes to our database of offshore catches.

Advertising

Advertising of your personal kayak fishing related equipment for sale is permitted. Sharing of special deals from retailers is also permitted where they may be of benefit to members. Members who are also retailers are welcome to post notifications of any events such as competitions or kayak testing sessions.
